Audit Manager 
(Asset Management)

About the role

An accountancy firm in the British Virgin Islands is seeking an audit manager for its financial services practice.
 

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of audit clients and will report directly to the Partners and Directors. The role will involve ensuring the team produce quality audit files which are on-time and on-budget, along with building client relationships and coaching junior staff.

 

Main responsibilities include (list not exhaustive):

 

  • Managing a large and complex client portfolio of mainly asset management and trust engagements; 

  • Providing a quality, risk-focussed review of audit work;

  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff;

  • Responsible for ensuring engagements are delivered on time and within budget, whilst ensuring the engagement file is completed to a high standard;

  • Reviewing financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS;

  • Providing technical guidance to the team;  

  • Maintaining and building client relationships; 

  • Ensuring engagements are appropriately staffed;

  • Creating and delivering client presentations and proposals.

The requirements

  • A qualified accountant i.e. ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, CA(SA), CRC etc.

  • Have at least 5 years’ current external audit experience – ideally within a Big Four or Top 10 environment with the last 2 years working on asset management audit engagements.

Compensation and benefits

A competitive remuneration package (salary ~US$90,000+ income tax free*) that is commensurate with qualifications and experience, and a relocation and work permit package.

​​

*There is no income tax in the BVI, but there is a flat rate (8%) payroll tax, which applies after the first $10,000 of remuneration. Please note that this is for informational purposes only and does not constitute individual tax advice.
