Manager
(Insolvency/Restructuring) - The BVI

About the role

A top firm in The British Virgin Islands is seeking an insolvency manager. 

​

We are keen to speak with insolvency managers or experienced assistant managers from common law jurisdictions such as the UK, Australia and Hong Kong who have formal corporate insolvency experience.

 

The work in the British Virgin Islands is interesting and a mix of complex, cross-border formal insolvency & liquidations work (often contentious), alongside also getting involved in IBRs and some corporate advisory work. It provides a unique opportunity to gain in-depth insolvency experience in the financial services sector through dealing with hedge funds, crypto/digital asset funds, private equity/debt funds and international business companies.

Typical responsibilities: 

​

  • Manage voluntary and contentious liquidations, restructuring and some forensics assignments.

  • Case Manager with full responsibility for day-to-day management of assigned entities.

  • Liaising with lawyers, fund managers, directors, registered agents and regulatory bodies.

  • Preparation and on-time completion of statutory & regulatory documents.

  • Responsible for billing and fee collection.

  • Assisting in the collection and realisation of assets.

  • Supervise and train assigned junior staff.

  • Responsible for other restructuring and advisory engagements. 

  • Involvement in business development activities.

The requirements

  • An internationally recognized professional  qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, CPA, CPI or JIEB).

  • At least 4 years of corporate insolvency experience.

​

Preferred:

  • Qualification in a common law jurisdiction (e.g. U.K., Canada, Australia).

  • Financial services or prior offshore insolvency experience (not a prerequisite).

​

Compensation and benefits

A competitive income tax free* remuneration package that is commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a relocation and work permit package.

​

*There is no income tax in The British Virgin Islands only a small payroll tax.
