Actuarial Manager
(P&C/General Insurance) - Cayman Islands
About the role
A top firm in the Cayman Islands is seeking actuarial manager for its P&C team.
You will provide clients with traditional actuarial services (e.g., reserving, pricing, capital modelling and mergers and acquisition support), as well as leading edge services covering areas such as financial reporting and measurement, financial risk management, modelling, hedging, reinsurance, securitization, economic capital and solvency.

You’ll be leading client engagement teams in the P&C area of our client’s practice, in a wide variety of areas including the below, essentially providing the knowledge for the firm’s clients to execute strategies and resolve complex issues:

Loss reserving analysis all lines of business and sectors (direct and reinsurance)

Loss Reserve Specialist Opinion for regulatory submission

New Business License Support
-
Capital Modelling and Economic Balance Sheet support to clients
-
Insurable risk management, self-insurance advisory services (across all industries)
-
Predictive Modelling and customer analytics
-
Actuarial Transformation and modelling
-
Rate setting all lines of business
-
Financial forecasting, valuation
-
IFRS17 consulting and/or US GAAP consulting
-
Product development
-
Mergers & acquisitions

The requirements
-
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Institute of Actuaries or equivalent
-
At least 5 years recent relevant P&C/general insurance actuarial experience (actuarial consulting experience in a Big Four firm preferred)
-
Experience working as actuarial specialist on audit engagements
-
Interest in supporting the practice’s sales efforts including opportunity identification, qualification and proposal development/presentation

Not required, but desirable:
-
Previous experience in a Risk Based Capital Regime as well as IFRS17 and/or US STAT would be preferred
​
