Actuarial Senior Manager
(Life) - Bermuda

About the role

A top accounting firm in Bermuda is seeking an actuarial consulting senior manager for its life team, a result of their continued growth in the Life insurance/reinsurance industry across the region.

 

You’ll be leading client engagement teams in the Life area of the practice, in a wide variety of areas including the below, essentially providing the knowledge for the firm’s clients to execute strategies and resolve complex issues:

  • Financial Reporting

  • Risk Management

  • Actuarial Transformation

  • Financial Modelling

  • Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Audit Support / Approved Actuary support

  • Capital optimisation

  • Investment advisory

  • New business start-up services

  • IFRS 17

The requirements

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, Casualty Actuarial Society, Institute of Actuaries or equivalent

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience working in an actuarial-oriented position, with 3 years of increased management responsibility

  • Experience in life (re)insurance markets

  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and actuarial-related software/tools, including AXIS, Prophet, ALFA, MOSES, VBA, C++ or other actuarial related software

  • Ability to work well independently and in a culturally diverse team-oriented environment

  • A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure

  • Interest in supporting the practice’s sales efforts including opportunity identification, qualification and proposal development/presentation

Not required, but desirable:

  • Prior consulting experience with some business development, sales and account management skills

  • Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs

​

Compensation and benefits

A competitive income tax free* remuneration package that is commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a relocation and work permit package.

​

*There is no income tax in Bermuda only a small payroll tax.
